Yitzhak Gilon
Yitzhak GilonYitzhak has a passionate focus on the wilderness and the desert. His interest and sense of the earth grew out of his involvement in the military, serving in a reconnaissance unit living intimately with the sun, dust, and dirt. with backpack and compass. As a solitary backpacker, Yitzhak Gilon explored the barren white dunes and the granitic mountains that rise above the sea in the Sinai Desert. He also explored the slopes of the Wadi Arava in the Negev desert across The Sinai. He walked the Oregon Trail and hiked through Selenite Range, San Emidio, Smoke Creek and the Black Rock Desert in Nevada. Having factual and conceptual knowledge of nature has made Yitzhak relate to nature in an intimate manner, both organic and personalized. Yitzhak's athleticism is derived from his many years of involvement in competitive running events, 800 m, marathons, ultra-marathons, and adventure racing. Skills
