Weekend run:

I went to the Red Hills this morning for a long run .  The rain was steady the whole time and the wind was constant to gale force, but it wasn't really very cold.  Awesome run - if I wasn't planning on going out again tomorrow, I would have stayed another hour or two!   I saw one tree fall, another down, and, on my way back, saw a big, old-timer that had just fallen right across the trail - a widow maker for sure!  Glad I wasn't a few minutes sooner.  It probably wasn't the safest day to be out there with stuff blowing and falling everywhere, but it was well worth it.  I saw one of the largest bucks I've ever seen in California - we stared at each other for 20 to 30 seconds before he turned tail - I had a feeling I'd see at least one deer today, since they're generally out in the morning hours on days like this, so they ca n hole up the rest of the day if the weather stays bad.  I crossed Six Bit and returned about 1/2 hour later and the creek had risen 4 to 5 inches in that short time!  You would have loved it!
